Gregg Fishbein was recently appointed to a three-year term on the Charter Commission for the City of Plymouth. The Charter Commission deals with issues related to the City Charter. The Charter details the structure of Plymouth's city government as well as the procedures it follows. The appointment was made by Chief Judge James T. Swenson from Hennepin County District Court.
LGN Associate Matthew R. Salzwedel and Summer Associate Devona Wells recently published an article entitled National Arbitration Forum Settlement with Minnesota Attorney General, in the State AG Tracker published by the Federalist Society for Law and Public Policy Studies in Washington D.C. The article discusses the National Arbitration Forum settlement; the effect the settlement could have on alternative dispute resolution of consumer matters in the United States; and recent federal legislative initiatives aimed at protecting consumers from allegedly pro-creditor arbitration provisions in consumer contracts.

Hennepin County Commissioner Jeff Johnson appointed me to serve as his representative on the board of directors for the Community Action Partnership for Suburban Hennepin County (or "CAPSH"). From the CAPSH website:
