Microcrystalline Cellulose Antitrust Litigation

We, along with our co-counsel, represent a class of businesses injured by an alleged conspiracy between FMC Corporation and Asahi Kasei Corporation to allocate the market for Microcrystalline Cellulose ("MCC"). We are Lead Counsel for a class of vitamin purchasers - one of the three classes certified in this case. MCC is a pharmaceutical chemical, derived from purified wood cellulose, used as a binder in making pharmaceutical tablets. The case is pending in the United Stated District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

Labelstock Antitrust Litigation

As Co-Lead Counsel in this case, we represent plaintiffs in a consolidated antitrust action alleging a price-fixing conspiracy among leading manufacturers of pressure-sensitive labelstock. The Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation has consolidated these cases in the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

Parcel Tanker Antitrust Litigation

We represent several domestic and international manufacturers and shippers of fish oil in an antitrust lawsuit against Stolt-Nielsen SA; Stolt-Nielsen Transportation Group, Ltd; Odfjell Asa; Odfjell USA, Inc; Jo Tankers BV; Jo Tankers USA, Inc.; and Tokyo Marine Co., Ltd. The complaint alleges the defendants conspired to fix freight rates for shipping liquid chemicals in parcel tankers traveling to and from ports in the United States and elsewhere. This case has been extensively discussed in the New York Times. We have been named the Chair of the Discovery Committee. The case is pending in the United States District Court for the District of Connecticut.

Ethylene Propylene Diene Monomer ("EPDM") Antitrust Litigation

We represent a Minnesota synthetic rubber manufacturing company in a complaint filed against the major manufacturers of EPDM, based on an alleged conspiracy to fix the prices of EPDM. EPDM, also known as "crackless rubber," is a synthetic rubber made from ethyl and propylene that is widely used by the chemical processing industry. This case has been sent to the District Court of Connecticut for consolidated proceedings. We are Co-Chair of Discovery in this case.

Urethane Antitrust Litigation

We represent a Maine company in a complaint filed against the major manufacturers of urethane. We have recently filed motions with the Judicial Panel on Multidistrict Litigation to determine where this case will be sent for consolidated and co-ordinated pre-trial proceedings.
