Monosodium Glutamate Antitrust Litigation

LGN is Co-Lead Counsel for the Plaintiff Class in this case, and so far has recovered $124 million for the benefit of a class of businesses which purchased food flavor enhancers from suppliers in the U.S., Japan, Korea, and Taiwan. Businesses which participated in the recovery received nearly 200% of the amounts they were overcharged. Judge Paul Magnuson, then Chief Judge of the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, said:

Plaintiffs' counsel conducted themselves in an exemplary fashion throughout the litigation, and are to be commended for their fine work in this litigation.
Linerboard Antitrust Litigation

LGN partner Joseph Bruckner is one of a five-person Class Box Plaintiffs' Executive Committee in this case. The class actions in this litigation recently were resolved with the recovery of more than $202 million for the benefit of a class of businesses - including many Fortune 500® companies - which purchased corrugated boxes and sheets. Judge Jan DuBois of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said:

The result achieved is the clearest reflection of [class plaintiffs' counsel's] skill and expertise. . . . The Court has repeatedly stated that the lawyering in the case at every stage was superb, and does so again.
Vitamins Antitrust Litigation

In addition to its extensive role in trial preparation, LGN chaired a critical committee for Class Plaintiffs in this case, one of the largest and most successful antitrust cases in history. Through settlement and verdict Class Plaintiffs' Counsel recovered over $400 million for the benefit of a class of businesses which purchased bulk vitamin products. Chief Judge Thomas Hogan of the United States District Court for the District of Columbia said:

[T]he attorneys involved are among some of the most highly skilled in the country with extensive experience in similar class action litigation . . . .
NASDAQ Market Makers Antitrust Litigation

We served as co-counsel for plaintiffs who bought and sold securities in an antitrust class action alleging a price-fixing conspiracy among leading market-makers in the computerized securities quotation system ("NASDAQ") operated by the National Association of Securities Dealers. A class of more than one million class members was certified by the court and settlements of more than $1 billion were obtained for the class.

Catfish Antitrust Litigation

As lead counsel we recovered $27.5 million for purchasers of farm-raised catfish for damages they suffered from an alleged conspiracy to fix prices of processed catfish products.
