Brian R. McDaniel is an attorney and a lobbyist based in Minnesota. He comes to the firm from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development where he served as Director of Government Affairs. Mr. McDaniel is a 1995 graduate, magna cum laude, of Minnesota State University where he studied political science and economics and earned a Bachelor of Arts degree. He attended William Mitchell College of Law, graduating with honors in 1998. After working in private legal practice, Mr. McDaniel held several key positions both inside and outside of the Capitol. He served as the Committee Administrator for the House Committee on Commerce, Jobs, & Economic Development and Legislative Director to the Speaker of the Minnesota House of Representatives. Additionally, he has held the position of Director of Fiscal Policy for the Minnesota Business Partnership and worked as an Administrative Law Judge for the Minnesota Department of Economic Security. In 2003, Governor Tim Pawlenty appointed Mr. McDaniel to the Metropolitan Council where he represents District 16, encompassing most of Southern Dakota County. He was reappointed to that post in 2007.
