Charles N. Nauen, a partner in the firm, heads the firm's environmental law practice and represents clients in environmental and commercial litigation in federal, state and administrative trials and appeals. Mr. Nauen also represents agricultural clients across the midwest and he represented Hennepin County, Minnesota from 1994 to 1999 in solid waste flow control litigation in federal and state court. He filed the first citizen environmental lawsuit under the Clean Water Act in Minnesota in 1988 and has prosecuted and defended citizen suits since then. Mr. Nauen has served as an adjunct professor of advanced environmental law at the University of Minnesota Law School since 1991. He has been the chair or co-chair of the Environmental Law Section of the Hennepin County Bar Association since 1999 and has served on the Minnesota State Bar Association (MSBA) Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy Law Section Council since 2004. He has served as a court-appointed special master and mediator in several environmental and commercial disputes. He graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School in 1980 and cum laude from Baylor University in 1976. |
