David J. Zoll

Experience
David J. Zoll practices primarily in environmental law and complex business litigation. He has represented clients from the private, government, and non-profit sectors in enforcement, litigation and rule making proceedings under the National Environmental Policy Act, the Clean Air Act, the Clean Water Act and other environmental laws. Mr. Zoll also represents a wide variety of clients in business litigation in both state and federal courts. He has participated in court and jury trials, conducted and defended depositions across the United States, and made numerous appearances in court on behalf of the firm's clients. Mr. Zoll currently serves as the Vice-Chair of the governing council of the Minnesota State Bar Association's Environmental, Natural Resources and Energy Law Section Council. He also serves as the Newsletter Vice-Chair for the Energy and Natural Resources Litigation Committee of the American Bar Association's Section of Environment, Energy, and Resources.
Mr. Zoll is the author of the environmental law blog, "Minnesota Environmental Lawyer" which provides information and analysis of recent decisions, issues and events in the area of environmental law.

represented individual voters in petition to have absentee ballots counted in 2008 U.S. Senate Election Recount.
- State of Minnesota v. Richard Lepak, Minnesota Court of Appeals (A09-1894)
Representation of private land owner in appeal of quick-take condemnation by the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
- In the matter of the Cities of Annandale and Maple Lake NPDES/SDS Permit, Minnesota Supreme Court (A04-2033)
Drafted amicus curiae brief on behalf of Metropolitan Council in case addressing permitting authority under the Clean Water Act.
- Minnesota Center for Environmental Advocacy v. Minnesota Pollution Control Agency, Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals (05-1113)
Represented citizenÌs group in appeal of an air emissions permit issued to Rochester Public Utilities and successfully negotiated a settlement between the parties.
- In re Bankruptcy of GFI America, Inc., District of Minnesota (05-47855)
Assisted in the representation corporations and individuals in defense of adversary actions commenced by bankruptcy trustee.
- Legacy Financial Group v. U.S. Bank N.A., Hennepin County District Court (05-12144)
Assisted in the representation of U.S. Bank in defense of action involving embezzlement by plaintiffÌs employee with successful settlement at trial.
- Chippewa Concrete, Inc. v. U.S. Bank N.A., Chippewa County (Wisconsin) Circuit Court (02-CV-304)
Assisted in the representation of U.S. Bank in defense of action involving embezzlement by plaintiffÌs employee with successful settlement at trial.
- Nicollet Cattle Company, Inc. v. United Food Group, LLC, District of Minnesota (08-CV-05899)
Represent seller of imported meat products in claim for damages resulting from a customerÌs cancellation of numerous outstanding purchase agreements.
- In re WorldCom Securities Litigation, Southern District of New York (02-cv-3288)
Assisted in representation of investors through analysis of materials produced by defendants and trial preparations. Settlement resulted in recovery of $6.15 billion of investorsÌ losses.
