Robert C. Long, a partner, practices in the area of commercial litigation, real estate and development, and government relations, focusing on local government issues. Mr. Long has many years of legal, government and corporate experience in both the public and private sectors. He was a partner at the Kennedy & Graven law firm for eight years practicing in municipal law, government relations, public finance and development law. He was Vice President of Corporate Services and Development at NAI Welsh where he led the Corporate Real Estate Services group and worked on urban redevelopment projects, including heading up the leasing team on behalf of Ryan Companies on the successful Midtown Exchange Project (Sears Building). He is also a former three term member of the St. Paul City Council Special Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Minnesota Attorney General, practicing in complex consumer fraud litigation, and Executive Director of the Minnesota Justice Foundation. Mr. Long also served on the staff of former St. Paul Mayor George Latimer.

In his current practice, Mr. Long represents several clients in government relations at the State Capitol as well as numerous business clients in real estate and commercial litigation matters. Mr. Long's commitment to community service includes serving on the Boards of several twin cities area non-profit organizations including: Gillette Children's Hospital Foundation; Hope for the City Foundation; St. Paul Youth Services; and Eureka Recycling. Mr. Long also provides pro-bono legal services to Centro Legal, Inc., a non profit Latino legal services agency, and is currently serving as co-counsel with the agency in two major lawsuits in Federal District Court involving federal immigration raids in Worthington and Willmar.

In 1985, Mr. Long graduated cum laude from the University of Minnesota Law School, where he received the William O. Douglas Public Interest Law Award. Mr. Long is a 1981 summa cum laude graduate of Macalester College, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree and a Phi Beta Kappa key.
