Ava Cavaco is a dedicated personal injury litigator, specializing in complex multi-district mass tort and class action litigation. She has represented thousands of individuals injured by defective medical devices and pharmaceuticals, toxic exposure, and dangerous consumer products.
Ava is judicially appointed to Plaintiffs’ leadership and elected to Chair the Leadership Development Committee in MDL 3014, In Re: Philips Recalled CPAP, Bi-Level Pap, and Mechanical Ventilator Products Litigation (W.D. PA). Ava played a key role in the CPAP litigation on the defensive discovery team, resulting in a $479+ million class action settlement, a $25 million medical monitoring class action settlement, and a $1.1 billion personal injury settlement of the MDL. In 2025, Ava was appointed by Judge Casey Rodgers to the Plaintiffs’ Steering Committee and Science & Experts Subcommittee of MDL 3140 In Re: Depo Provera (Depot Medroxyprogesterone Acetate) Products Liability Litigation) (N.D FL).
When Ava is not in the office, she can be found teaching Torts as an adjunct professor and serving as Supervising Faculty for the Externship Program at Mitchell Hamline School of Law.
