Background
Paidwork is an online microtask platform that allows users to earn money by completing digital microtasks, such as watching videos, playing mobile games, filling out surveys, and testing apps. It functions as a free “get-paid-to” site available worldwide.

What Happened
According to public reports, information associated with more than 23 million Paidwork users was publicly released after threat actors allegedly obtained the data in March 2026 and later offered it for sale. The exposed information reportedly includes names, email addresses, home addresses, phone numbers, dates of birth, bank account information, payout histories, IP addresses, device information, and passwords. Paidwork has stated that it is investigating the reported incident with the assistance of external cybersecurity experts but has not confirmed that its systems were compromised. Potential victims now face serious damage from the loss of this sensitive information, such as fraud and identity theft.

Users Face New Harms.

The disclosure of personal identifying information opens users up to elevated risks of identity theft. Scammers use such information to open new credit accounts, obtain loans, or get even more personal information with more personal phishing schemes.
