What Happened
In August 2026, Boston Scientific experienced a significant cybersecurity incident that disrupted portions of its internal information technology infrastructure and temporarily affected manufacturing, order processing, product shipments, and certain remote-monitoring functions. The company has reported that the unauthorized activity was contained to certain on-premises systems and, to date, has not publicly confirmed that patient or customer information was compromised. Potential victims now face serious damage from the loss of this sensitive information, such as fraud and identity theft.
