Lockridge Grindal Nauen is proud to be a new member of Twin Cities Diversity in Practice. Heidi Silton will serve as the firm’s Member Representative and Stephanie Chen will be the firm representative for the organization’s the Emerging Leaders Group.

LGN D.C. team coat drive supports Central Union Mission

As part of LGN’s 40440 initiative, the firm’s Washington, DC-based Federal Relations team was joined by attorneys Karen Hanson Riebel, Heidi Silton, Anna Horning Nygren, and Simeon Morbey to deliver several bags of donated winter coats, hats, and gloves to Central Union Mission in our nation’s capitol.

Central Union Mission provides a safe shelter, hot meals, medical care, job training and compassionate care to help transform lives in the Washington D.C. metro area.

Fifteen LGN Attorneys named Minnesota Super Lawyers and Rising Stars

Congratulations to the 15 LGN attorneys who were recognized as Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Each year, Super Lawyers recognizes the top lawyers in Minnesota via a multiphase selection process involving peer nomination, independent research and peer evaluation.

A special congratulations to Charles Nauen and Susan Ellingstad who were named among Minnesota’s Top 100 Super Lawyers, and to Susan Ellingstad, Yvonne Flaherty, Karen Riebel, and Heidi Silton who were named among the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Minnesota. Six LGN attorneys were named Rising Stars, a designation no more than 2.5% of Minnesota attorneys may share in a given year.

LGN Attorneys take leadership role on Minnesota State Bar Association Antitrust Council

Anna Horning Nygren and Brian Clark were re-elected to the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Antitrust Council at the Antitrust Section’s annual meeting on May 23, 2018.

Craig Davis is completing his year as past chair of MSBA’s Antitrust Section, and was elected as an emeritus member of the Antitrust Council. He joins Joe Bruckner and Heidi Silton as emeritus members. Craig Davis also presented to the annual meeting on recent developments in class actions as part of a continuing legal education panel on “Antitrust Year in Review.”

Nine LGN Attorneys served as Reader mentors at Folwell Performing Arts Magnet School

During the school year, nine LGN attorneys have served as Reader mentors to 7th and 8th Grade Student Writers at Folwell Performing Arts Magnet School in Minneapolis. Each week students wrote essays on assigned topics which were mailed to mentors to read and provide feedback. Having a specific dedicated audience for their writing proved invaluable in motivating the students to work on and improve their writing. Students, teachers, mentors, and program coordinators gathered to meet and celebrate the program’s school year success. For over 40%, English is not their primary language. Approximately 90% of the student population has diverse ethnic backgrounds. LGN Partner Heidi Silton will serve on the Reader/Writer Board beginning Fall of 2018. Five LGN Attorneys named among “Top 100 Attorneys” and “Top 50 Women Super Lawyers”.

A special congratulations to LGN partners Charles NauenYvonne Flaherty, and Heidi Silton, who were each named among Minnesota’s Top 100 Attorneys by Super Lawyers. This is the fifth year in a row that Charles Nauen has been named as a Top 100 Minnesota Super Lawyer and the second year in a row for Yvonne Flaherty.

LGN partners Susan Ellingstad, Yvonne Flaherty, Karen Riebel, and Heidi Silton were also named as four of the Top 50 Women Super Lawyers in Minnesota. We are proud that this is the third year in a row in which at least three of LGN’s women partners have been recognized in this category.

LGN Attorneys elected to MSBA Antitrust Section

The Antitrust Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association elected Anna Horning Nygren to join its governing Antitrust Council last week.

The Antitrust Section also elected Heidi Silton as an emeritus council member. Emeritus members must be “council members who have served a distinguished term on the Council, including serving as a chairperson and completing their term(s) as Immediate Past Chairperson.” (Heidi joins LGN partner Joe Bruckner in achieving emeritus member status).

The Section also elected LGN attorney Brian Clark for another term on the Council.

Congratulations to Anna, Heidi, and Brian on their elections!
