14 LGN Attorneys Named Super Lawyers and Rising Stars for 2021

Lockridge Grindal Nauen is proud to announce that fourteen of the firm’s attorneys were selected as 2021 Minnesota Super Lawyers and Rising Stars. Super Lawyers recognizes the top 5% of outstanding lawyers in each state, who have attained a high-degree of peer recognition and professional achievement, from more than 70 practice areas.

The Rising Stars recognition is given to the top 2.5% of up-and-coming attorneys in the state who are either 40 years or younger, or who have been practicing for 10 years or less.

The selection process is multi-phased including independent research, peer nominations, and peer evaluations.

FEDERAL RESERVE ANNOUNCES MUNICIPAL LIQUIDITY FACILITY PROGRAM

On Thursday, April 9, the Federal Reserve took actions to provide up to $2.3 trillion in loans to support the economy. This funding will assist households and employers of all sizes and bolster the ability of state and local governments to deliver critical services during the coronavirus pandemic.

One of the actions that the Federal Reserve is taking is geared toward helping state and local governments manage cash flow stresses caused by the coronavirus pandemic by establishing a Municipal Liquidity Facility (the “Facility”).  Pursuant to the Facility, a Federal Reserve Bank will commit to lend up to $500 billion to special purpose vehicle (“SPV”) on a recourse basis.  The SPV will in turn purchase “Eligible Notes” directly from Eligible Issuers.  The SPV will have the ability to purchase up to $500 billion of Eligible Notes.  States, the District of Columbia, counties with a population of at least two million residents, and […]

Ted Grindal commemorates opening of Minikahda Club golf course with fellow board members

Ted Grindal was one of 12 past presidents to commemorate the opening of The Minikahda Club’s golf course Wednesday June 26th.  The membership voted to re-grass the golf course 19 months ago and the course has been closed 11 months. Ted was President of the Club during the initial closure and still serves on the Board of Governors of the Club as Immediate Past President.

Ted was one of the few lucky members to play the golf course immediately after the opening ceremony. Summer has now truly officially began with the course opening at The Minikahda Club.

Ted Grindal co-presents CLE at MSBA Health Law Section Annual Meeting

LGN partner Ted Grindal co-presented a CLE session at the annual meeting of the Minnesota State Bar Association’s Health Law section on May 29, 2019. The session, entitled “Minnesota Health Care at Tipping Point – 2019 Legislative Update” focused on recent changes to health care law passed during the recently concluded 2019 Minnesota legislative session.

Ted frequently speaks and presents on health care topics and has been named one of the state’s Top 100 Influential Health Care Leaders by Minnesota Physician.

Ted Grindal concludes term as Board Chair of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society

Ted Grindal concluded his term as Chair of the Board of Directors of the Evangelical Lutheran Good Samaritan Society by presiding over the society’s annual meeting on June 26th in Sioux Falls.

Ted has served on the Sioux Falls-based organization’s board for the past six years. It is the largest non-profit senior services company in the United States with over 200 facilities in 24 states with 20,000 employees. At the meeting the society approved a plan to combine with Sanford Health effective January 1, 2019. If the deal is approved by regulators, it would unite two of Sioux Falls’ biggest employers and create a $6 billion organization with 47,000 employees, a substantial health care and research capacity, and a national network of nursing homes and senior care centers.
