Robert F. Sherman joined the Lockridge Grindal Nauen Federal Relations Group in January of 2019. He brings wide-ranging experience and in-depth knowledge of federal politics and policy – providing significant value to clients of the firm. Mr. Sherman focuses his time on providing research and analysis of federal legislation as well as keeping his ear to the ground for the latest political and policy developments on Capitol Hill – allowing for team members and clients to have the most up-to-date information on important legislative proposals and changes. Mr. Sherman also plays a critical role providing logistical and administrative support to the rest of the members of the Federal Relations Group

Mr. Sherman joins the firm after working in a diverse set of policy-focused roles in Washington. He began his career in the political arena as a district office intern for Chicago-area Representative Jan Schakowsky, before moving to the Washington office of Minnesota Representative Betty McCollum, where he supported legislative staff and wrote constituent correspondence for the congresswoman. Most recently, Mr. Sherman has worked in government relations for Ducks Unlimited and Monument Advocacy, working on issue areas ranging from conservation and agriculture to and trade and antitrust regulation. Mr. Sherman’s background working on the Hill, in non-profits, and with private-sector advocacy organizations provides tremendous value to the Federal Relations Group.

Mr. Sherman graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science and a minor in Political Science. He grew up in Austin, Minnesota and currently lives in the Bloomingdale neighborhood of Washington, D.C.
