Lockridge Grindal Nauen is excited to welcome Kasia Kokoszka, Raashid Yassin, and Derek Waller to the firm as our 2018 Summer Associates.

Kasia Kokoszka is a student at the University of Minnesota Law School, class of 2020. She graduated from Barnard College with a double major in Anthropology and Spanish & Latin American Cultures in 2011. During her first year of law school, she was an active member of the Women’s Law Student Association. Prior to attending law school, she was an Operations Manager for the New York Hotel Trades Council, AFL-CIO and managed the union’s dues checkoff system and reporting requirements with employers. She is also fluent in Polish and Spanish and has professional experience in both languages.

Raashid Yassin is a student at the University of Minnesota Law School in the class of 2020. During his first year of law school, he participated in the Asylum Law Project at the International Rescue Committee where he assisted new immigrants with USCIS petitions. Prior to law school, he held positions with AARP Minnesota, Hillary Clinton’s presidential primary campaign, and Duke Men’s Basketball. He is a 2012 graduate of Duke University.

Derek Waller is a law student at the University of Minnesota in the class of 2019. He serves as a student legal writing instructor and a Managing and Research Editor on the Minnesota Law Review. In law school, he has focused on healthcare, civil rights, and fair housing litigation. After graduation, he will clerk for the Honorable Joan N. Ericksen in the District of Minnesota. Prior to attending law school, he worked with Epic Systems implementing electronic medical records and managing regulatory compliance for home health and hospice agencies. He is a graduate of St. Olaf College.
