Congratulations to LGN’s Eric C. Tostrud, who was nominated Monday for an opening on the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota

We are especially proud of Eric because of his long association with our firm. Eric joined LGN as a law clerk in 1989. After graduating from William Mitchell College of Law, summa cum laude, in 1990, he served clerkships for the Honorable Edward J. Devitt, U.S. District Court, District of Minnesota, and for the Honorable George E. MacKinnon, U.S. Court of Appeals for the District of Columbia Circuit. He then returned to LGN as an associate from 1992 to 1997 and as a partner until 2014. He has continued with LGN in an Of Counsel role while serving on the full-time faculty at Mitchell Hamline School of Law, where he teaches in the areas of federal jurisdiction and federal court procedure, as the Distinguished Practitioner in Residence.

Scott Moriarity talks copyright law at Minneapolis Community and Technical College

LGN attorney Scott Moriarity spoke at Minneapolis Community and Technical College last week to a class of “creative freelance” business students. The topic of his presentation was copyright law and best practices for creative professionals to protect and market their copyrightable work product. Mr. Moriarity represents a variety of creative professionals as part of LGN’s Intellectual Property practice and frequently speaks on the topic of trademark and copyright law.

LGN employees raise $6,500 LGN employees raise $6,500 for Neighborhood House food drive.

Lockridge Grindal Nauen was the top business contributor to support the Neighborhood House food drive by raising over $6,500 this year. Neighborhood House, a non-profit organization in Saint Paul, collected over 160,000 pounds/dollars in donations and matching funds as a result of a month-long food drive. LGN employees have a long tradition of supporting this organization.
